I am a very anxious person... I have always been... and I have been in and out of therapy since I can remember... but, I have always been very insightful. I've always known what I wanted to be and what I wanted to accomplish. This has been the greatest gift, because knowing myself has been key to heal and care for my body, mind and spirt. I truly believe that when we know ourselves we are able to understand our emotions, and our body and mind's needs... and this is what we need to practice self-care that is tailored for us.
I created this growing list of articles about being anti-racist to helps others educate themselves about the country we live in and what we can do moving forward. As I have said before, I am no expert, but I do choose to continue learning and I choose to continue to have difficult conversations that will help us continue growing. I hope you find this list useful, and let me know if there is anything you think I need to add to this!
It's been a while and I totally forgot to write this second part.. LOL... it's ok.. we all have stuff in our mind and as teachers in the middle of a pandemic, our students are obviously our priority... sometimes I forget that making my students my priority doesn't mean I have to let go of what it's important to me... like writing in this blob!
I have two BFFs at work... and they are amazing friends, both inside and outside the classroom. These two wonderful ladies became my friends because I shared an office or a classroom with them at some point. Basically, we were stuck together for a full year! ... and to my surprise, they didn't drive me nuts!!
¡Hola! There are many things I love and many things I am afraid of. Writing is both a passion and a fear that I need to conquer. I will share with you anything that I want to express and hopefully my stories can inspire you to become a better version of yourself too.
Remember that being brave means to face your fears. Being fearless doesn't require courage.
